Laylat al-Qadr

ليلة القدر

27 Ramadan every year

Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Power or Night of Decree, is considered the holiest night in Islam. It is believed to be the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel). The Quran states that worship on this night is better than a thousand months of worship. While the exact date is unknown, it is traditionally observed on the 27th night of Ramadan, though it could fall on any of the odd nights in the last ten days of Ramadan. Muslims spend the night in prayer, recitation of the Quran, and supplication, seeking God's forgiveness and blessings. Many Muslims practice i'tikaf (seclusion in the mosque) during the last ten days of Ramadan to increase their chances of experiencing this blessed night.
